Surgery Boyfriend

Jake had surgery for is Compartment Syndrome on his calves.  My most favorite thing that came out of the surgery...Jake on Drugs is AWESOME!  A little info:  Before he went under the knife the Dr. told him that the only person they usually do this surgery on is Elite Athletes.
  1. When he saw me, he had about a 10 second delayed reaction, and then smiled
  2. The nurse told him that he had to eat something before he left.  He asked for bacon.  She gave him crackers instead.  He asked if they were bacon flavored.  She said no.  He asked "What kind of an establishment is this?" and tried to refuse the crackers.
  3. The bragged to the nurses that he had crutches with lots of cool stickers.
  4. I told him that I had his drugs for pain, "I don't need drugs!" he shouted loudly.  "I feel really good.  I could walk out of here."
  5. When we got him to the car in the wheelchair, he forgot how to stand-up and get in the car.
  6. On the way home he wouldn't stop talking.  Commenting on the snow, how cold it was, he felt good, should of brought a coat and then he paused and said, "I feel like I'm talking a lot. Am I talking a lot?"
  7. I told him that my friend Nancy (name changed to protect the innocent) said that she hoped he got better and to give him a big hug, he yelled. "Nancy's a pervert!"
  8. He got really sentimental and asked "Were you there when the Dr. came out and told you I was okay?"  Me - "I wasn't.  Remember, I was at work?  But your parents were."  Jake - "Did he congratulate them?"  "Congratulate them for what?"  "For having an elite athlete as a son?"
  9. Then he forgot how to climb stairs into the house. :)
Best day ever!
