So after my talk with Mr. Jake, things have been good. I call him more often to talk (this is made slightly easier by the fact that I hate Todd because he is acting like a little girl over a very small issue) ...anyway...I am happy to report that we have talked almost everyday since our "talk" just about our days, which is something that I usually reserve for the girls and/or Todd.
I am just trying to be open, which is hard for me, and less harsh, which is also quite hard for me. He seems way more relaxed and I calm down when he is not pushing so hard to move things along.
I did come to a realization today...sadly I think that most people that are single and are around my age are cut from the same awkward and misshapen cloth that I am, thus making it difficult for two such pieces to fit together. I BLAME TEXTING.
Believe it or not, I have people now asking ME for dating advice since I have had a LONG relationship. Doesn't that scare that pants off of those reading this. You will be happy to know that I have taken some of the advice that you all have given me, spliced it all together and has counterfeited it as my own. Here is just a brief text I sent a friend today...
He text and was confused about past girls since he is in the process of breaking-up with another one. I said... "Jump in 100%, but know that 99% of the people that you date, you will not marry. Be careful with others, especially their hearts, but this is the one time in life that we can be totally selfish. Can you see yourself making large and small decisions with the person you are dating and can you see them the mother/father of your children?"
That is all...pretty dang profound for a text message if I do say so myself, so thanks girls for making me look Oh So Smart! I owe you all!
