At church on Sunday I told a friend that Jake and I were dating "Other People." She has been talking to my roommate lately about Brian, I guy went out with last year and we interested in going out with again...
Quick Date Summary:
His two best friends were dating two of my friends. I mentioned I thought he was cute and they arranged a double date, which turned into an eight couple conundrum! You know what they say, two's a company, but 16 is a crowd. Literally. We could have started our own protest that could have become news worthy with that many people....
Anyway. We spent more time entertaining all the couples and no time talking to each other and at the end of the night, while watching a movie he was inches from me, but almost sitting in the lap of his friend next to him. Needless to say I took that as a hint that screamed "Not so interested."
So when I told said friend that it's complicated, but I am sort of on the market she asked my roommie if I would be interested in going out with Brian. She asked me. I called bull on him being interested, but if they want to put the feelers out...take it away.
I got home last night to news that Brian would be very interested and was then too, he's just awkward around girls he has interest in. Ok, I know awkward. Look in the Webster's Dictionary and there is an 8 X 10 glossy of me smiling back at you...but this kid is so witty and funny and dare I say it charming to everyone, but he couldn't carry a conversation in a Home Depot bucket with me. If that's "being interested" it looks like he has beat me in the awkward arena. I am so sad to give up the cute belt that came with the title.
Regardless of all this...he is interested. I am excited and there was talk of a double date. I said I prefer a single, but if he is more comfortable, I would be fine with a double, but ONLY a double...no one else. I am hoping to have a call this week, but I guess we will see.
