So some of you may know that I have had a friend crush on a boy for 15 years. (you know who it is). Now I am dating someone...which is strange, but I am getting better about it a little everyday. Things are going great. He is "Dating" me. Meaning... he asks me out, he pays and we are paired off. It's refreshing to have a guy that does that, that actually persues a girl. Wow! What a concept.
Well...the friend has said a lot of things lately, like lets you and I just get married. I asked him where we would live because I wasn't going to move as far West as he was and where I lived was too far. So we settled on a Love Shack in Draper. Many things like this has been said over the past few months well...
On Saturday, July 19 I had had enough so when we were on a long hike, I asked him. Are you interested or are you screwing me? Either way I am fine....I just need to know. He said he had thought about it and sometimes he things we'd be great together and other times he thinks Ick! Yeah, he said ICK! I said thanks for that D. Bag!
He said that he keeps wondering if there is something that he is missing about me that everyone else sees and he asked what would have to happen if he did ask me out. I let him know that he would have to Call me up, Ask me out and pursue me, cause this wasn't going to be easy for him. He knew that, but asked what I would have to happen with my boyfriend. I told him that I would tell him everything. I wouldn't lie to him. I wouldn't do that to anyone.
THEN THE BOMB DROPPED...
He asked why would even need to date. Why wouldn't we just set a WEDDING DATE! My jaw dropped to the dirt and I was grateful for the fact that we were hiking in a single file line down the mountain.
I told him that I needed the dating. Of course I kind of turned it into a joke saying that I was a good roll and wouldn't he want to experience that for a while? He brought up that we would have super cute, athletic kids. I agreed, as long as they have his speed and agility and my anger, they would be unstoppable!
Then we got more in the sun and the conversation stopped. We have seen each other once and talked a few times, all without another word about us dating or what-have-you, but just a whisper of awkwardness. Not too bad though.
At this point...I am exploring the boyfriend side of things and if he chooses to pursue me, then I will deal with it when it comes.
